Today is the late Michael Jackson’s birthday. Born August 29, 1958, the singer, songwriter, and dancer known as the “King of Pop” would be celebrating his 64th birthday. As one of the best-selling artists of all time, the 15-time Grammy Award winner left his mark as one of the most significant cultural figures of the 20th century.
While his life did not come without controversy, Michael has always been respected by his children. In honor of his birthday, 2/3 of his kids, his daughter Paris Jackson, 24, and his son Prince Jackson, 25, shared rare family photos. Check out the pics below and read more about the family.

Michael divorced his first wife, Lisa Marie Presley, in 1996. He married Debbie Rowe that same year who gave birth to their first child Michael Joseph known as “Prince” in February 1997. MJ raised Prince with the help of multiple nannies and nurses. “Happy birthday to the greatest! Miss you more and more but I love you more and more with each day. Thank you for everything,” he wrote in the caption of his Instagram post.

Rowe gave birth to his second child Paris, in 1998 before they divorced in 1999. The 24-year-old has followed in her father’s footsteps and is a singer. She shared a photo of them kissing when she was a child on her Instagram story, writing, “hbd” with a heart emoji.

Prince’s gallery included pictures with all his siblings including Michael’s youngest son Prince Michael II. His little brother changed his name to Bigi, in 2015, and has remained mainly out of the public eye. Michael infamously dangled him over a balcony with a blanket over his head in 2002.

Prince founded The Heal Los Angeles charity to continue his dad’s ‘Heal the World’ initiatives. Paris was named an ambassador of the organization in May 2021. They work to support inner-city youth and the homeless through free meal programs, toy drives, and more, per Celebrity Kind.

In the gallery of photos was a photo of the family with the late Carrie Fisher at Michael’s final Christmas in 2008. Michael passed away on June 25, 2009, after his physician Conrad Murray gave him a variety of medications to help him sleep. The “Man in the Mirror,” singer’s death was caused by a propofol overdose, and Murray was convicted, in November 2011, of involuntary manslaughter. He was released in 2013 after serving less than two years of a four-year sentence.
