Sophie Turner is embracing a new change. The actress has debuted her darkest hair in years, dropping her signature blonde, a style that has represented her ever since the end of "Game of Thrones."
Turner memorably played a redhead throughout the show's runtime, but she's a natural blonde and had to dye her hair red throughout the show's initial seasons. She revealed she wore red wigs in the latter seasons due to the damage that the persistent dying did to her hair.
As she tackles a new project, a reboot of the beloved "Tomb Raider" series, Turner has dyed her hair again. In new photos shared by Prime Video, Turner is seen taking on the role of Lara Croft, previously played by Angelina Jolie and Alicia Vikander. The images show her embracing a brunette hairstyle while also looking fit and like a worthy successor to the character's storied cinematic history.
The images show Turner wearing a tight blue tank top paired with black shorts. Lara Croft's iconic double guns are also featured, being strapped to Turner's legs.
The outfit is completed by some cool red-tinted sunglasses and a strappy vest reminiscent of the original video game character design.
Turner shared the photo on her Instagram, adding a muscle emoji and some hashtags, including wardrobe test and Tomb Raider.
More details about the new Tomb Raider show
The Tomb Raider is one of the most anticipated shows that Prime Video is developing. Co-created by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, who previously developed "Killing Eve" and "Fleabag," the program marks the second onscreen interpretation of the character and one of the most exciting projects of Turner's career.
“Tomb Raider boasts a plethora of iconic characters,” said Waller-Bridge. “I am thrilled to have been able to bring some personal and fan favourites to the screen while also introducing a few new rascals of our own to the mix. This cast is beyond my wildest dreams!”
In the case of Turner, she sounds thrilled to be taking on the role and playing it for a new generation of people. "I’ve been a long-time fan of Tomb Raider and the character of Lara," said Turner, per PEOPLE. "She has always felt for me, very emboldened in a male-dominated world. She’s a fierce female role model!"
The cast is rounded out by a talented cast, including Sigourney Weaver and Jason Isaacs. It began shooting on January 16th, suggesting that it'll be a while before episodes are released.
