As we gear up for another thrilling Coachella weekend, where some of the biggest names in music come together for unforgettable performances in the California desert to celebrate music, art, and fashion, it’s crucial to prioritize skincare. So before you put on your best festival fashion, glittery makeup and brade your hair to head off to the festival, remember to take care of your skin!

HOLA! got the scoop from the board-certified dermatologist partnering with Coachella’s official skincare and sun care sponsor, Neutrogena, on how to keep your skin healthy and glowing in the hot desert weather.

Dr. Baum, a Florida licensed and board-certified dermatologist, said, “Dealing with the environmental aggressors can be tough on our skin, especially if you are in the desert this weekend for Coachella.”

The dermatologist offered three essential tips to keep your skin looking its best during Coachella.

Cleanse: Before and after festival

“I always say that this should be your first step in your skincare routine, and with the Hydro Boost Gel Cleanser you’ll be able to remove all that festival dirt, oil and makeup without drying out your skin.”

SPF: Every two hours

“This is an essential part of your skincare routine that I advise for all my patients. You want to avoid burns and hyperpigmentation, especially if you have darker skin, so make sure to add sunscreen.”

The dermatologist recommended products like the Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sunscreen SPF 70. “This SPF shields skin six layers deep from the hot desert sun and absorbs quickly for a clean, matte finish that you can layer under your festival makeup.”

“This is key to avoid your skin from feeling dry. Opt for a moisturizer that can quench the skin after a long day in the dry, desert air.”

In addition to Dr. Baum’s advice, Neutrogena shared with HOLA! that the brand partnered with several Latino influencers to showcase their skincare journey during the festival. Among them is Lesly Gomez, a Dominican beauty content creator and esthetician, who is known for sharing her skincare tips and tutorials.

Another influencer that joined the brand at Coachella was Yasmany Del Real, a Mexican digital creator with over 2.19 million subscribers on YouTube. Del Real, who is based in California, provides skincare advice focusing on issues such as acne and hyperpigmentation. He also advocates for inclusivity and diversity in the beauty industry.

With the help of these experts and the influencers sharing their tips on social, you can enjoy Coachella to the max and not worry about your skin’s health. So, cleanse your face, pack your moisturizer, apply sunscreen, and get ready to have the time of your life at Coachella weekend 2!
