Lady Kitty Spencer is keeping Princess Diana's legacy alive. The model and niece to the beloved Princess attended the Dolce & Gabbana fashion show in Italy, wearing a stunning gown that was reminiscent of some of the gowns Princess Diana wore near the end of the '80s.
The gown is Dolce & Gabbana and is in bright purple. The element that made it so reminiscent of Diana was its silhouette, which was tight in the top and exploding out in the skirt, giving it a dramatic and royal twist.
Kitty Spencer completed the look with her hair tied up in an elegant bun and some stunning jewelry that still allowed the dress to remain the centerpiece of the look.
"Alta Moda: Devotion to beauty," Spencer captioned a post on Instagram, where she shared photos of the look.
"There are special nights when the gods leave the celestial sphere and descend into the heart of the Mediterranean: Sicily. A land that has long embraced the cult of beauty, where flowers are offered as gifts, processions become poetry, and devotion reveals itself as an ancient sentiment passed down through generations. Here, devoted women gather roses, weave floral crowns and adorn altars for the goddesses in a ritual of eternal beauty.
These are the inspirations behind the Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda Collection. Every gesture becomes an offering, every embroidery a prayer, and every dress a declaration of love."
Spencer has spoken about her aunt's legacy, especially in the realm of fashion, where she also works. "I think she's iconic, and I suppose it's such a wonderful thing that her fashion influence is still enduring today," she said in an interview with our sister website HELLO!
"She was a great ambassador for British fashion."
Princess Diana's gorgeous purple gown
The dress drew comparisons to a stunning gown Diana wore during a gala dinner in the late '80s. The dress is made up of a fabric in a different shade of purple, in velvet, featuring a Bardot neckline. It's a dress that's remembered to this day as one of Diana's most stunning looks, which she paired with matching heels and an eye-catching set of jewelry.
The dress went on to become a collector's item and was a part of a Sotheby's auction in 2023, where it was sold for over $600,000.
