The British royal family has reason to celebrate. Flora Vesterberg, granddaughter of Princess Alexandra, is expecting her first child with her husband, Timothy Vesterberg.
The aristocrat shared the happy news on her social media, accompanied by a stunning photo taken by her father, James Ogilvy, the landscape artist and great-grandson of George V, showing the couple with Flora gently cradling her baby bump.
"Delighted to share that Timothy and I are expecting our first child," she wrote alongside the image, adding that “we are truly over the moon.”
This wonderful announcement comes five years after Flora and Timothy exchanged vows in an intimate ceremony at the Royal Chapel of St. James’s Palace.
However, this wasn’t the first time the couple had celebrated their union. Nearly a year later, on September 10, they held a wedding blessing at St. James’s Chapel, surrounded once again by their closest friends and family.
Flora and Timothy’s love story:
Flora and Timothy’s romance could easily be lifted from the pages of a classic love story. They met through a mutual friend, Alexander Danielsson, who would later serve as their best man, while Flora was interning at Sotheby’s, the renowned auction house.
An art historian by training, a passion she inherited from her father, Flora was using the internship to enhance her professional path and make contemporary art more accessible.
Their first meeting came in 2019, and as Flora told Vogue, it happened in England. Flora first met Alexander while living in Paris for an internship at Sotheby’s. Alexander had studied with Timothy at the Stockholm School of Economics, and a few years later he introduced Flora to Timothy in London.
Following that initial meeting, Flora and Timothy began spending time together, joining some of Alexander’s friends for early morning swims in the Serpentine during the week. What began as a close friendship soon blossomed into love, and within six months, the couple became engaged.
Their engagement brought joy to the Windsors, and the announcement was met with excitement throughout their circles. From that moment on, Flora and Timothy’s bond only deepened, as they continued to express the depth of their love and gratitude for one another, cherishing the adventures and experiences they shared.
Their union, built on affection and partnership, was understood to be a lasting one, a true celebration of love and commitment.
Royal connections:
Flora Vesterberg is the eldest daughter of James Ogilvy and Julia Caroline Rawlison. Her father, the son of Princess Alexandra and a great-grandson of George V, is where her connection to the late Queen Elizabeth II begins.
Alexandra’s father, George, Duke of Kent, and the father of the former monarch, George VI, were brothers, making Princess Alexandra and Queen Elizabeth II first cousins and close friends.
Flora often honors this royal lineage in her daily life, sharing anecdotes about both ‘royals’ and expressing her gratitude and affection in every story.
