Jordan’s royal family shared a warm, moving photo bringing together three generations of the Hashemite royals in a single shot. In their holiday greeting, the Jordanian Royal Court posed like never before. The photo prominently featured Queen Rania in her grandmotherly role, alongside her granddaughter. “We wish you a new year filled with peace and branches of hope reaching across generations. May family ties and love keep growing in the year ahead,” they wrote in a message shared on the official Hashemite Royal Court account.
Dressed in elegant light blue and sage green, with the women matching in greenish tones and the men opting for blue pieces, the Hashemite royal family captured this festive greeting in the garden of their residence, Al-Maquar, in Amman, Jordan. Leading the group is Rania, holding little Princess Iman in her arms, the daughter of Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa, born in August 2024. Her parents, beaming and embraced, pose just behind her as they look at their newborn. The portrait also echoes, in part, the official photo Queen Rania shared last August for her 55th birthday, when she wore a dress in a similar palette to the shades the Jordanian royals chose for their holiday card.
Beside Rania stands King Abdullah, holding the newest member of the royal family, Amina, whom Princess Iman and her husband, Jameel Thermiotis, welcomed in February of this year. The background features the proud parents, Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa, adoring their little one. Completing the portrait on the right are Princess Salma and Prince Hashem, the baby’s siblings.
2025 has been a magical year for the Hashemite Royal Court, a feeling reinforced by this Saturday’s joint portrait, which reflects the closeness and unity they share. The past few months have also been full of celebrations for Queen Rania and King Abdullah: Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa marked their second wedding anniversary and their daughter’s first birthday, while Iman and Jameel welcomed their baby girl, Amina.
Rania and Abdullah II of Jordan marked 32 years of marriage
On June 10, Rania and Abdullah II of Jordan marked 32 years of marriage, a union and love story that has reshaped the Hashemite monarchy, projecting an unprecedented image of continuity, stability, unity, and modernity. “How could I not lean on your heart when an entire country leans on you? Every year, you are my support and my partner. You will always be my home. Happy anniversary,” the queen said.
Together, they have turned their household into a symbol of progress, and their leadership has given Jordan a more diverse image. It’s also worth remembering that within its constitutional, parliamentary monarchy, the head of state has the authority to appoint the prime minister and the cabinet, dissolve Parliament and call elections, and holds significant influence over the country’s domestic and foreign policy.
