Reading is one of Charlotte Casiraghi’s most well-known passions. It's a hobby she shares with her mother, Princess Caroline of Monaco. So her presence at the opening of a cultural space dedicated primarily to books came as no surprise.
Alongside Prince Albert, mother and daughter inaugurated a new media library, which also bears Caroline’s name. Caroline Media Library, or Médiathèque Caroline in French, officially opens its doors to the public on Thursday, December 11, in the heart of Monaco.
However, the official inauguration took place yesterday, Wednesday, with Prince Albert, Princess Caroline, and Charlotte Casiraghi leading the ceremony.
For the occasion, both mother and daughter opted for oversized suits, a major trend among royals, each adapting it to her own personal style.
Charlotte Casiraghi’s chocolate-brown suit:
Staying true to her signature balance of tradition with a modern twist, Charlotte Casiraghi chose a wide-legged wool herringbone suit in the season’s standout shade, chocolate brown.
She wore the blazer open over a simple black sweater, creating a brown-and-black combination that until recently was considered “forbidden” in fashion circles. Today, however, more and more style icons are embracing this chic duo.
This isn’t Charlotte’s first time pairing black and brown. During her recent visit to Madrid in November, she sported a trench coat and suit in the same color combination.
For that look, she added Mary Jane flats, while this week she opted for footwear suited to colder weather, with a rocker twist, cowboy-inspired boots adorned with studs along the sole.
Her naturally loose hair and a selection of rings, without earrings, perfectly completed this understated yet elegant and on-trend outfit.
Princess Caroline’s timeless take:
Princess Caroline of Monaco chose a more timeless approach. Her gray-striped suit was paired with a double-breasted blazer featuring wide lapels, worn over a pastel green turtleneck, a subtle yet cheerful hue.
A multi-chain Chanel necklace, featuring the Maison’s iconic pearls, added a touch of luxury, complemented by her vintage suede handbag and several gold rings. Special mention goes to her manicure, finished in the perfect festive red.
Another mother-daughter stylish outing:
Back in October, Princess Caroline of Monaco and her daughter Charlotte Casiraghi stole the spotlight at the Prince Pierre Awards, proving once again that elegance is truly a family trait.
The mother-daughter duo embraced a monochromatic black palette, allowing their tailored silhouettes and carefully curated accessories to speak volumes.
Their joint appearance at a pre-event gathering, just hours before the official ceremony at the Monte Carlo Opera House, perfectly showcased their shared sense of style and appreciation for Monaco’s cultural heritage.
Caroline exuded her signature timeless sophistication in a tailored tuxedo-inspired suit, elevated by statement jewelry. A long tassel-adorned necklace cascading to her hip, paired with Art Deco-inspired earrings, added a touch of glamour, while sequined accents along the blazer lapels and flared trousers offered a subtle shimmer.
Charlotte mirrored her mother’s monochromatic approach while injecting her own bold twist. She wore a high-waisted A-line midi skirt paired with a simple matching cotton top, enhanced by a layered necklace of black stones falling to her midriff.
Together, Caroline and Charlotte demonstrated how thoughtful coordination and polished accessorizing can make a sophisticated mother-daughter statement at any high-profile cultural event.
