The Prince and Princess of Wales have always wished for their children to enjoy a happy, peaceful childhood, focused on their education and free from feeling the weight of the responsibility they will one day bear as direct heirs to the British throne.
Public appearances by Princes George, Charlotte, and Louis are limited to moments of major institutional importance or family-centered occasions like this Friday, when they took part in the carol concert Kate Middleton has organized at Westminster Abbey for the fifth year in a row. A tradition-filled event that marks the start of the Windsor family’s Christmas season and has allowed us to see almost the entire family together.
As a gracious host, Kate Middleton was the first to arrive at the 'Together at Christmas' event, created to honor unsung heroes who devote their time to philanthropic and social work for the good of their communities.
At around four in the afternoon, she entered the Abbey, located just steps from Big Ben and the setting for historic moments such as Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral and the coronation of King Charles III. She wanted to finalize preparations, ensure every detail was perfect, and personally welcome the guests supporting her on such an important evening.
She met with singers Katie Melua, Dan Smith, Griff, and Fisherman’s Friends to thank them for their participation. An hour later, she stepped outside the Abbey to welcome her husband and children, who arrived in coordinated outfits and visibly high spirits.
All of them wore blue except Kate, who chose a green double-breasted coat by Catherine Walker, a designer closely associated with Diana, Princess of Wales.
Their first gesture was to hang red ribbons bearing their names on a magnificent Christmas tree at the entrance of the Abbey. The scenes they shared revealed the Princess’s most personal side, showing her without protocol, simply as a mother.
Before entering, she was affectionate with George, Charlotte, and Louis, and once inside, seated in the front row, she remained attentive to ensure they enjoyed every moment of the event, immersed in Christmas magic.
This is the first time in six months that the Wales family has appeared together with all three children. Their last time together in public was at 'Trooping the Colour,' although they have attended separate engagements since then.
The heir, Prince George, recently made his debut at the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall and also attended Wimbledon this summer with his parents and sister. Princess Charlotte was present with her father at the Women’s Euro final between England and Spain.
