Until now, Mary of Denmark was the queen most willing to take risks with her manicures. However, this week she has found a new contender. We’re referring to Queen Rania of Jordan, who surprised everyone at her latest public appearance, sporting some of the boldest and most original nails we’ve seen from her. Few noticed the change at first, but a closer look at the images revealed her latest beauty statement.

Rania ushered in the festive season with a visit to the Mar Mansour Charity Society in Amman, where she met with a group of young people to participate in various Christmas activities, including making tree ornaments, wreaths, and gingerbread houses. The Hashemite Queen praised the organisation’s work since its founding in 1957, applauding its mission to serve and support disadvantaged children and families.

The wife of King Abdullah II of Jordan, considered one of the world’s most influential and elegant women, combined several trends for her appointment in Amman.

However, it was her nails that truly captured our attention. She took an unprecedented leap, debuting an inverted French manicure in two tones. It is, without a doubt, her boldest manicure to date. Rania has always favored natural shades in pink and nude. This time, she has followed in the footsteps of Mary of Denmark, the first royal to embrace blue nails.

According to the expert, the look uses “two colors, a grey-blue and a burgundy to add depth, but it can be created with any colours, even more natural tones or glitter for the holidays.”

The Queen has stepped outside her usual beauty codes with this latest choice. Known for her impeccably groomed hands and long, squared-off nails, Rania is a loyal defender of classic elegance. Over the years, she has gravitated towards natural, timeless shades such as nudes, soft pinks, and understated reds, colors that suit any outfit and exude sophistication.

She has also embraced certain fashion-forward looks, such as glazed-donut nails, opting for that lacquered, pearlescent finish, pastel pinks, the cherry tones so popular this season, and milky nails with their luminous, softly blurred effect.

These subtle, refined shades of nude and pink align perfectly with her personal style and public role. Her manicures, traditionally rooted in a classic aesthetic, reflect her preference for balance and understatement, enhancing her hands’ natural beauty without overshadowing her image as a modern, forward-thinking queen.
