Queen Máxima of the Netherlands wore a chic suit on her most recent outing in Utrecht, Netherlands. The Queen was visiting the Enik Recovery College, a recovery center for people dealing with addictions and other forms of mental health conditions.
For the occasion, the Queen wore a chic and sober grey suit that she paired with a blue blouse. She rounded out the look with grey heels and a matching purse.
She wore some jewelry in the form of dangling earrings and her engagement ring.
Máxima's visit took place yesterday, with her speaking with various collaborators and workers at the facility, with the conversations focused on how people involved in the facility can help patients feel empowered through their recovery
Queen Máxima's mission to support mental health
Over the years, the Queen has made it her priority to address the rising mental health crisis in the Netherlands. This year, she played a key part in launching the app In Je Bol, a tool designed for young people in hopes of boosting their mental health resources.
Máxima's mission is a personal one. Her younger sister, Ines, died when she was 33 years old after struggling with her mental health for years. "It's important for us to continue to pay attention to these numbers and for us not to only focus on the problems. It's important to take a positive mindset," said the Queen earlier this year. "I often think of my sister Ines. Her death is the reason why I'm committed to helping with the health of young people. Not to make it problematic, but to work towards developing better mental resilience."
"Like my daughters and all of the young people that live in the Netherlands, we should be paying attention to mental health. There's nothing wrong with having a bad day. That's not a tragedy."
Ines struggled with her health for years, suffering from depression and spending some years in a health clinic to treat an eating disorder. While she and the Queen shared a 14-year age difference, the two shared a close relationship, with Ines being named the godmother of Máxima's daughter, Princess Ariane.
