Embracing one of the season’s most flattering shades, Queen Letizia attended the National Innovation and Design Awards 2025 at the Royal Palace of El Pardo, the very same venue where her engagement took place 23 years ago to the day.

This latest engagement comes just two days after she welcomed the Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tarik, to Madrid, where she turned heads in a deep blue gown by The 2nd Skin Co., with bow-detailed sleeves, a design she first wore in 2024 for a royal dinner in Amsterdam.

She paired the dress with diamond drop earrings and the Russian Tiara, one of the most striking pieces in the royal collection. For this autumn event celebrating innovation and design, the Queen once again proved herself a loyal ambassador of Spanish fashion, choosing to rewear a sophisticated Massimo Dutti dress that has clearly become one of her favorites, as she has now worn it six times.

Featuring a cherry-red hue, the ensemble was perfect for the season, with a high neckline, long sleeves, a defined waist, a midi wrap skirt, and a teardrop opening at the back.

Queen Letizia wasn’t the first royal to fall for this elegant look. Queen Máxima of the Netherlands debuted the same design on October 7, 2020, pairing it with boots and showcasing its versatility. Máxima later re-wore the look on March 24, 2022, and March 14, 2023.

Queen Letizia wore this red Massimo Dutti design to the 'Concepción Arenal: The Humanist Passion 1820–1893' exhibition at Madrid’s National Library on February 16, 2021. Since then, she has brought it back for engagements in Andorra (March 25, 2021), Mallorca (April 27, 2022), and Madrid (December 20, 2022) for the 15th anniversary of the BBVA Microfinance Foundation. Her most recent appearance in the dress before today was at the Tudela Film Festival on February 21, 2025.

The choice of a recycled dress highlights Queen Letizia’s commitment to sustainable fashion, showing that elegance does not always require a new wardrobe. By rewearing her favorite pieces, she continues to inspire women around the world to embrace versatile, timeless designs without compromising on style.
