Beatrice Borromeo and Pierre Casiraghi are celebrating. The couple has welcomed their third child together, named Bianca Carolina Marta, according to new reports. The name is a clear reference to both of the parents' families: Caroline of Monaco, Pierre's mother, and Marta Marzotto, Beatrice's grandmother, a known fashion designer and Italian icon.

It's been a big year for Beatrice and Pierre, who are also celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary. Throughout their marriage, the couple welcomed Stefano in 2017 and Francesco in 2018.

The Grimaldi royal house has long been careful in safeguarding the private lives of its children. In this instance, it was the same, with Beatrice Borromeo dodging pregnancy rumours until the end of May, when she attended a Dior fashion show in Rome. It was in this instance that Beatrice's pregnancy was revealed to the public. A few days later, she was photographed in Barcelona, showcasing her pregnant belly.

Bianca Carolina Marta is the eighth granddaughter of Caroline of Monaco, who's thrilled to continue exploring this stage as a grandmother.

"I try to be an authentic grandmother," she said in an interview with Point de Vue. "The wonderful thing is that I went from being a mother to being a grandmother without any gaps, because Alexandra was 13 years old when Sacha was born. The transition was made with no interruptions. I've always had a lot of kids at home, and I love to spend time taking care of my grandkids. I'm very proud of the adults that my kids have grown into. They're themselves, and we remain very close. We have a lot of fun together. I think the joy of spending time together is essential."
