Jazmin Grace Grimaldi, the eldest daughter of Prince Albert of Monaco, has ended her long-term relationship with singer, songwriter Ian Mellencamp, nephew of legendary musician John Mellencamp, after nine years together, Daily Mail reports.
“They’ve been a huge part of each other’s lives, but it’s time to move on,” a source told the outlet. While their nearly decade-long romance once seemed steady, insiders say the relationship had stopped working as it once had.
Fans first noticed a cooling-off on social media when Grimaldi, an actress and singer, stopped posting with her partner, even after a mysterious ring sparked speculation about a possible engagement.
The couple went public in March 2017, sharing kisses and affectionate posts on Instagram. Just a year later, Mellencamp accompanied Grimaldi to Monaco, where he met her father, Prince Albert, in the royal box at the Monte Carlo Masters tennis tournament.
Beyond their romance, Grimaldi and Mellencamp also collaborated musically. In 2020, they released “Thankful,” a holiday-inspired duet that they co-wrote and performed together, showcasing their genuine chemistry as artists.
Grimaldi, daughter of Prince Albert and Tamara Rotolo, continues to pursue her career in acting and music. Mellencamp, who began his career as a model in New York, working alongside Gigi Hadid and Toni Garrn, has since built his own path in music.
However, he has remained outside the spotlight that has long followed his uncle, John Mellencamp, a rock icon known for hits like “Jack & Diane” and a high-profile romance with actress Meg Ryan.
