King Frederik and Queen Mary are on their journey through Denmark. The couple have embarked on a solo trip, as their four kids ready for new chapters in their lives, sharing some photos that are reminiscent of images featuring the King and Queen of Spain.
The king and queen's summer tour has done aboard the DMY Dannebrog, the official ship and residence of the Danish royals when traveling abroad. The images of the royals show them happy and unfiltered, a rare sight for royalty of any sort.
The couple visited the area of Frederikshavn, where the Råbjerg Mile is located. This part of Denmark is known as the north desert and makes up for some of the largest dunes in Europe, measuring around 1,000 meters on each side.
The royals enjoyed themselves as they walked through the dunes barefoot, sharing a laugh and enjoying each other's company. The pair dressed comfortably and elegantly, with King Frederik wearing khaki pants, a button up shirt, and an orange vest.
Queen Mary opted for beige linen pants, a button up shirt, a blue sweater, and sneakers. She rounded out the look with her hair tied in a ponytail and some sunglasses.
"Something of Denmark's special nature formed the frame of the afternoon program, when Their Majesties the King and Queen visited the Råbjerg Mile," reads the Danish Royal House's official caption, which accompanied the photos of the royals' visit.
"Here the Majesties met children from Junior Rangers, who talked about community and experiences in nature, before the trip went on a hike in the large water ditch, which moves 15 meters a year. After this followed a visit to Anchers House in Skagen, where the Majesties got an insight into the artist couple's home and the cultural heritage that still characterizes the city. The day ended at Grenen, Denmark's northernmost point, where Kattegat and Skagerrak meet, and where the Majesties heard about the forces of nature, which are constantly changing the landscape."

The images call to mind the photos that featured the King and Queen of Spain in 2020, when the pair enjoyed the National Park of Doñana.
Both couples wore similar outfits and seemed to enjoy a relaxing trip and a bonding experience between them, all while shrouded in a stunning backdrop.
