In a rare move, Queen Rania of Jordan brought along her 28-year-old daughter, Princess Iman, to an official event. The two attended a meeting with the organizing committee of Amman Design Week (ADW), where they were briefed on preparations for the next edition of this national event, scheduled for the last quarter of 2026.

The Queen and Princess received a full update from organizers about the plans for the fourth edition, which will be supported by partners from both the public and private sectors. This edition will carry the theme 'Accumulations.'

During the meeting, ADW co-directors Bisher Taba and Sarah Hejazin presented their explanation of the event's goals, which are to deepen design’s impact, build long-term ties with the design community, and harness collective knowledge while building on the success of the past three editions.

Rania and Iman, who are from Jordan, also viewed prototypes of several original projects created by members of the country's design community. This project was launched in 2016 with the support of the Hashemite Queen to showcase the work and talent of local, regional, and international designers and to establish Amman as a regional hub for innovation, expression, and experimentation. The project also serves as a platform to highlight not only designers but also artisans.

Princess Iman became a mother this past February, making King Abdullah and Queen Rania grandparents for the second time. She gave birth to her first daughter, a baby girl named Amina, with her husband, Jameel Alexandre, who is a New York financier and the son of a prominent Venezuelan businessman, while María Hernández is a well-known artist specializing in conceptual photography.
