As ever has uncorked a new chapter. Meghan Markle's lifestyle brand officially launched its debut rosé on Tuesday. The wine, which has since sold out online, was available to purchase in sets of three for $90, half a case for $159 and a full case for $300.
The 2023 Napa Valley Rosé, curated by the Duchess of Sussex, is described as a "delicately balanced rosé with soft notes of stone fruit, gentle minerality, and a lasting finish." It is said to be "reminiscent of the finest Provençal styles, it’s crisp, pale in color, and effortlessly elegant — crafted for slow afternoons and golden-hour gatherings," and "captures the essence of sun-drenched outdoor moments through its thoughtfully crafted blend."
The rosé marks As ever’s first foray into wine—but not its last! It was revealed on Tuesday that a Méthode Champenoise Napa Valley sparkling wine is planned for the near future, with additional varietals to follow.
The rosé's launch on July 1 coincided with what would have been Princess Diana's 64th birthday. The Duchess' late mother-in-law passed away 19 years before she met the Princess' younger son, Prince Harry. July 1 is also a significant date in Harry and Meghan's love story. The Duke of Sussex revealed in his memoir Spare that he and Meghan first connected on Instagram that day, July 1, in 2016.
"Eventually, we exchanged phone numbers, and migrated the conversation over to text, going late into the night," Harry wrote in his book. The Duke also noted that it occurred to him "how uncanny, how surreal, how bizarre, that this marathon conversation should have begun on July 1, 2016," which would have been his mother's 55th birthday.
As ever announced last month that it was expanding into wine with its Napa Valley rosé. The brand's debut collection was released on April 2, 2205 and sold out in under an hour. "Our shelves may be empty, but my heart is full! We sold out in less than one hour and I can’t thank you enough…for celebrating, purchasing, sharing, and believing," the With Love, Meghan star wrote on Instagram at the time. "It’s just the start @aseverofficial 🎉 Here we go!"
Meghan unveiled her brand As ever this past February, explaining that the name "means 'as it’s always been’ or some even say ‘in the same way as always.'" In her announcement, the Duchess wrote: "This new chapter is an extension of what has always been my love language, beautifully weaving together everything I cherish — food, gardening, entertaining, thoughtful living, and finding joy in the everyday."
