Ten years after the Prince Couple tied the knot, Princess Sofia and Prince Carl Philip of Sweden were joined at their daughter Princess Ines’ christening by two of their bridesmaids—now all grown up. The pair's 13-year-old niece Princess Estelle and Tiara Larsson, who is said to be the daughter of Sofia's childhood friend Cajsa Larsson, were picked by the couple to be godparents to their fourth child, along with Fredrik von der Esch, Claes Kockum, Sandrine Kockum and Tiara Larsson.
Estelle, second in line to the Swedish throne, wore a pink floral look—previously worn by her mother, Crown Princess Victoria—to the service held on Friday, June 13, at Drottningholm Palace Chapel, while Tiara opted for a lavender-colored dress with puff sleeves for the occasion.
Ines' christening on Friday coincided with her parents' tenth wedding anniversary. The Prince Couple shared memories from their royal wedding on the eve of their anniversary, writing on Instagram (translated to English): "Tomorrow we celebrate our 10th wedding anniversary. On June 13, 2015 we got married❤️ We are so grateful for the joy and warmth that met us that day and has continued throughout these ten years. Now we have four wonderful children and tomorrow we are christening our little Ines🌸."
Sofia married her Prince on June 13, 2015 at the Royal Chapel. Since then, she and Carl Philip have welcomed four kids: Prince Alexander, 9, Prince Gabriel, 7, Prince Julian, 4, and four-month-old Princess Ines. The royal couple's sons were all on hand for their baby sister's christening, and had a role pouring the baptismal water during the service.
Months before the birth of her daughter, Sofia admitted to Vogue Scandinavia that she "always, always, always dreamt of a family." The Princess said, "It’s one of my biggest goals in life. Not everyone has that – I had that."
“Both me and my husband come from a family of five – with three kids – so we thought that that would be a good number, and we felt quite satisfied with that," she continued. "But, gratefully, there’s a bonus on the way. We feel very humble and grateful. It was maybe not in the plan, but now we are very, very excited. Especially the kids.”
