Princess Olympia of Greece took a page out of Carrie Bradshaw’s style playbook…or should we say, a dress from her closet. On May 13, the 28 year old shared a series of photos of herself modeling a vintage Donna Karan dress on Instagram, and ended her carousel with a picture of Sarah Jessica Parker's Sex and the City character seemingly wearing the same design.
"I couldn’t help but wonder…," Olympia captioned the post, referencing the recurring phrase that Carrie would say in Sex and the City.
"Gorgeous!!!" Olympia's cousin Talita Von Furstenberg commented on the photos, while model Ivy Getty wrote: "Its also so perfect on you i am soooo obsessed."
The blush wrapped sparkle tulle collage dress that Olympia was photographed wearing is from Donna Karan's spring 1999 collection. The Princess accessorized her look with matching blush Loeffler Randall heels featuring rosettes and Tiffany & Co. earrings. According to Harper's Bazaar, Olympia wore the archival dress to actress Phoebe Tonkin and art dealer Bernard Lagrange's wedding in New York City.
Like Olympia, Carrie wore her strapless blush dress to a wedding in Season 2, Episode 7 of Sex and the City.
Olympia has previously described her style as "classic and vintage." In a 2019 interview with Le Banana, the stylish royal shared, "My mom [Crown Princess Marie-Chantal] is my muse. My style is classic and vintage, I wear so many inherited clothes and nobody notices it. I like wearing comfy clothes with sophisticated."
The most cherished items in her closet have admittedly come from her mom and grandmother. Speaking to Harper's Bazaar Australia in 2022, Olympia revealed, "The things that mean the most are pieces that my grandmother wore when she was, say 40, or pieces that my mum gave me that she wore before she had me,” adding, “Now I wear those pieces out to events and it reminds me of my mum."
She noted in the same interview that “you are what you wear." "If you buy well, that piece will last forever, and everyone will wear it differently," Olympia said.
The Greek Princess is the eldest of Crown Princess Marie-Chantal and Crown Prince Pavlos' five children: Olympia, Prince Constantine-Alexios, Prince Achileas-Andreas, Prince Odysseas-Kimon and Prince Aristides-Stavros. Her paternal grandfather, Constantine II, who passed away in 2023, was the last King of Greece.
