The Wales family won't be joining King Charles and Queen Camilla at Easter service this year. While Their Majesties are set to attend the Easter Matins Service with members of the British royal family at Windsor Castle on Sunday, April 20, the Prince and Princess of Wales, along with their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, will instead be at their country home in Norfolk.

A source told The Mirror that Prince William informed his father of his intention to miss the service to "enjoy some extended time as a family over Easter." The source added, "They are choosing to spend time together as a family before the children go back to school."

Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis, who all attend Lambrook School, are currently on break, which ends April 24. The day before the summer term begins, Prince Louis will celebrate his seventh birthday on April 23.

Prince George has stepped out twice in the past week with his dad. The Prince of Wales and his 11-year-old son traveled to Paris last week to attend the UEFA Champions League match between Paris Saint-Germain F.C. and Aston Villa F.C. on April 9.

"Well, I’ve got my son here as well, so I’m on best behavior as well," William told TNT Sports ahead of the game. "But I thought, it’s been 43 years since anything like this has happened in my generation as a Villa fan, and I want George to experience a night out away from home in a big European competition."

The Prince of Wales added, "I hope it's not 43 years is the next time that happens, but I think those memories are really important to create and bringing him along tonight is a big deal for me."

George and William were out again on April 15 to cheer on Aston Villa F.C. at Villa Park.

The Wales family last attended Easter service with members of the royal family in 2023. Less than two weeks before last year's service, the Princess of Wales announced that she was undergoing a course of preventative chemotherapy. Catherine has since completed her treatment and is in remission.

King Charles, who was diagnosed with a form of cancer last year, stepped out for the service in 2024, joined by the Queen, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, James, Earl of Wessex, Princess Anne, Vice Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson.
