Sister Sledge welcomed a new royal *family* member over the weekend! On Sunday, the music group shared a video of none other than Queen Maxima of the Netherlands singing "We Are Family" with them.

"The fam so honored to meet (and sing with!) Queen Máxima of the Netherlands last night @ladiesofsoul !!! 💗🇳🇱 #wearefamily #sledgendary," the video was captioned. Her Majesty was dressed in a black ensemble teamed with statement gold hoop earrings for the "Ladies of Soul" event held at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam.

"How cool is that! You see that Maxima is a Latino girl😍🩷," one Instagram user commented on the video featuring the Argentine-born Queen.

The original members of the iconic vocal group included siblings Debbie, Joni, Kim, and Kathy Sledge. The group, Sister Sledge featuring Sledgendary, is now comprised of Debbie, her kids Camille Sledge and David Sledge, as well as the son of the late Joni, Thaddeus Sledge, and vocalist Tanya Ti-et.

Queen Maxima of the Netherlands has previously shared that when she wants "to remember the old times" she listens to "wonderful music, rock and pop from the 80s"

Maxima, who is the honorary chair of More Music in the Classroom and patroness of the Concertgebouw Orchestra, has spoken in the past about the types of music she likes to listen to. "Everything," she revealed in a 2021 episode of LookLab with NikkieTutorials. "According to the mood. If I need to be uplifted, then I have salsa or tango or something like that. Sometimes I just want to remember the old times and I have all these, you know, wonderful music, rock and pop from the 80s.”

Asked at the time if she sings, Maxima said with a laugh, "To myself, in the shower."

While she sings alone, Her Majesty enjoys making music with others. “Because I like sharing,” she explained. Queen Maxima added, “I think I have the most joy in making music when I’m sharing that we’re making something together.”
