Queen Camilla reveals royal family's new addition

She's 8 weeks old!

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM - APRIL 30: (EMBARGOED FOR PUBLICATION IN UK NEWSPAPERS UNTIL 24 HOURS AFTER CREATE DATE AND TIME) Queen Camilla and King Charles III visit the University College Hospital Macmillan Cancer Centre to raise awareness of the importance of early diagnosis and highlight some of the innovative research, supported by Cancer Research UK, which is taking place at the hospital on April 30, 2024 in London, England. The visit marks King Charles' first day as the new Patron of Cancer Research UK and is his first official public-facing engagement since being diagnosed with cancer. There are four new little legs walking around Queen Camilla's home. While visiting the Beaney House of Art & Knowledge in Canterbury on Tuesday, Her Majesty revealed that she has a new dog.

"I've just got a new puppy," she said, via the Daily Mail's Rebecca English. Queen Camilla shared that her 8-week-old rescue pup is "called Moley." The Queen said, "[She's] looks just like a mole."

Rebecca reported that Moley was born on Boxing Day, and that the puppy's mother is half Jack Russell, while her father’s breed is unknown. Moley was rescued from Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, which Her Majesty is patron of.

King Charles revealed back in November that he and his wife Camilla planned on getting a new dog. His Majesty's comments came days after it was revealed that Her Majesty's rescue dog Beth had passed away. Buckingham Palace announced Beth's passing on Nov. 18, writing on Instagram: "A sad farewell to Beth, The Queen’s much-loved companion from @Battersea Dogs and Cats Home who brought such joy, whether on walkies, helping on official duties, or curled up by the fire. 🐾."

PEOPLE reported at the time that it understood that the Queen's dog had an untreatable tumor and had to be put down.

Like Moley, Queen Camilla rescued Beth from Battersea Dogs & Cats Home. Following the palace's announcement about Beth, the charity wrote on Instagram that they were "very sad to hear" that the Queen's dog had passed away. Battersea Dogs & Cats Home added, "Her Majesty, our Patron, rehomed Beth from Battersea in 2011 and we have many fond memories of Beth visiting our centres over the years. Our thoughts are with Their Majesties at this time. We know how difficult it is to lose a beloved pet and Beth was very special indeed. 💙."

In addition to her new puppy Moley, Her Majesty has a Jack Russell Terrier named Bluebell, whom she also rescued from Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in 2012. According to Queen Camilla's page on the charity's website, "A huge animal lover, Her Majesty rehomed two Jack Russell Terriers from Battersea, Beth in August 2011 and Bluebell in September 2012. Beth was handed in to Battersea by a family who could no longer care for her, whilst poor Bluebell was just 4 weeks old when she was dumped in a London park, starving, shivering and suffering from a terrible skin condition that had left her almost bald. It was love at first sight and, as we all feel about our pets, Her Majesty cannot imagine her home, or her sofa, without these colourful characters."
