Crown Prince Hussein of Jordan reunited with his "dear friend" Prince William in Windsor. The Prince of Wales welcomed Queen Rania and King Abdullah II's firstborn to Windsor Castle on Monday, Jan. 27. The Prince and Princess of Wales' social media accounts shared footage of William, 42, warmly greeting Hussein, 30, as well as video of the pair walking together inside the castle.
"Welcoming The Crown Prince of Jordan, Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, to Windsor this morning 🇯🇴," the video was captioned on Instagram. Meanwhile, the Crown Prince of Jordan took to his personal Instagram to post photos from the meeting. Alongside the pictures, Hussein wrote, "With my dear friend His Royal Highness, The Prince of Wales, at Windsor Castle today."
According to the Daily Mail, the duo discussed relations between their countries during their meeting.
King Abdullah has previously spoken about his eldest child and Prince William's relationship. He told King Charles in 2021, (via The Jordan Times), “To see two young men, our sons, establish their relationship really warms my heart.”
The Prince and Princess of Wales were guests at Hussein and Princess Rajwa's royal wedding in June of 2023. Following the ceremony, William and Catherine were seen speaking with the newlyweds. The Princess of Wales, who lived in Amman, Jordan for two and a half years as a young child, wore a dress by Elie Saab, like the bride, for the ceremony at Zahran Palace.
Months after the royal wedding, Hussein's mother, Queen Rania, told Fox News Digital, "It is always a pleasure to host the Prince and Princess of Wales in Jordan."
She added, "We are so thankful they were able to make the trip for Hussein’s wedding. The ties between Jordan and the U.K. are very strong, and our close friendship with the British royal family goes back generations."
The Queen is a member of Prince William's Earthshot Prize Council, which selects the five winners of The Earthshot Prize every year. Her Majesty revealed to Fox News Digital that what "impresses" her the "most about the Prince and Princess of Wales is their passion." The Queen said, "Working alongside Prince William on his environmental award, the Earthshot Prize, it’s obvious how much he cares about protecting and repairing our planet. And as for Princess Kate, her support for families and young people in the U.K. is clearly a labor of love."
