Angélica Fuentes lost everything overnight and turned her healing into NOWFUL

There was a time in Angélica Fuentes’ life when she had everything the world calls success. She was the owner and CEO of a multinational company with operations in 17 countries, and her work reached far beyond the boardroom. Her influence wasn’t limited to business; from working with the United Nations to a role on the World Economic Forum’s gender-parity board, in the eyes of the world, she had it all.

During this time, she also became a mother, raising two young daughters who became her anchor and purpose. They gave her a reason to keep going.

Then, at 52, the life she had built began to unravel. “It was devastating, I had a very painful public divorce,” Fuentes says. “In 24 hours, I lost my job, my title, my business, my assets.” She says the hardest part was not losing power or money, but the fear of losing what mattered most. “I feared losing my daughters,” she says.

Afterward, she faced a choice many women know well: give in to her circumstances or choose herself and her children. Fuentes refused to let this be the end of her story. She decided not to let anyone keep her down. As she had done before, she found her way back to herself.

“I always go back to a phrase that captures that mindset: Ser más para hacer más. Be more, to do more. It’s not about doing more, it’s about being more.”

Returning to her truth

For Fuentes, survival has never been about proving anyone wrong. It was about returning to something quieter and stronger, especially when life has tried to shake her sense of self. “I stood in my truth, and that meant refusing to let the outside noise define who she is.

It is something she learned over time, from years of letting go of external validation and building an inner foundation that cannot be taken away. “I always go back to a phrase that captures that mindset: Ser más para hacer más.” Be more, to do more. It’s not about doing more, it’s about being more.

The emptiness that started it all

In conversation with ¡HOLA!, Fuentes traces the earliest roots of NOWFUL back to her late teens, when privilege and appearance could not disguise what she felt inside. A friend once looked at her and asked how she could possibly be sad when she had everything most people want. She was popular, had the best car and clothes, and a glamorous social life. She remembers her answer well. It was a truth that startled even her, “Yes, I have everything on the outside. Yet I have nothing on the inside.”

She described it as the kind of emptiness that will not make sense to people who can only see you superficially. Until today, she says that moment became a turning point in her life, pushing her into a decades-long journey of healing and self-discovery, one that would later carry her through the moment life tried to take everything from her.

The practices behind the power

Behind the boardroom, Fuentes was doing inner work. She developed routines to enhance her body and mind. “I was journaling every day. Reading books. Growing,” she says, and that discipline extended into how she cared for herself physically. “I took care of my body. I worked out daily. I took supplements. I needed to have a very clear mind to make the best decisions.”

She spoke about the double standards that many women know too well, especially in high-profile leadership roles. Usually, the burden is heavier, the scrutiny sharper, and the margins thinner. “Because we are women, we have to put a double effort,” she says. “First, because we have to prove our capabilities and our talents. And then, because we have to overcome the obstacles in front of us just because we are women.”

To her, NOWFUL was born as a lifeline she had been building for decades, long before she knew she would need it. Created from the habits that helped her not only endure, but thrive. It is meant to be a daily structure for women who feel like they cannot stop, even when their bodies are begging them to slow down.

NOWFUL, built for the present moment

Fuentes believes the most radical thing we can do in a world of nonstop demands is also the simplest. Be here. “Now is the only place where life actually happens,” she says, and she returns to the idea as both philosophy and practice.

“We need to be rooted in this moment, so we are no longer living in the shadows of the past or the anxiety of the future.” That is the heart of NOWFUL, her wellness system launched in 2025, designed to accompany you from the moment you wake up to the moment you go to sleep.

“It’s a kit that accompanies you from the moment you wake up to the moment you go to sleep,” she says.

The daily system she built to come back to herself

NOWFUL is built around four rituals Fuentes has relied on for years to stay clear, grounded, and well, especially during high pressure seasons of her life. Each one is designed to support a different part of the day, from focus in the morning to calm in the midst of stress, to reflection, and finally rest.

Mindthrive Mushroom Complex

Fuentes says functional mushrooms became part of her life long before they became a wellness trend. “I’ve been taking mushrooms for many years,” she says, “because I needed to boost my cognitive capacity and provide a very clean, sustainable energy during the day.” Her routine used to be hands-on and almost ritualistic.

She would buy lion’s mane, reishi, shiitake, and cordyceps, then steep the dried mushrooms in a small pot of water on the stove, letting them infuse before pouring the tea into a cup with lemon and “the highest manuka that I could find.” Lion’s mane and reishi were always part of her mix, she says, and she credits the practice with the kind of support she needed while running companies at the highest level. “The cognitive performance, the clarity,” adding that it also helped her digestion and inflammation.

That daily ritual is a very big part of NOWFUL with the Mindthrive Mushroom Complex, a capsule blend of 10 organic, vegan functional mushrooms designed to support focus, cognitive performance, and presence. I take two capsules every single morning, then I’m all set for the day.”

Her kit also includes an Anchoring Oil, and when stress hits, Fuentes turns to scent and breath. She applies the oil to her palms, inhales, and slows her breathing. “When I’m stressed over a call, I breathe in, breathe out,” she says. “I promise you, it brings the stress down. It gives you clarity, focus. It grounds you.” She adds that her daughters use it while studying, especially during exams.

Fuentes has also written thousands of affirmations over her life. “I realized very early on that words are amazingly powerful,” she says. In the system, that practice is possible with AI-powered affirmation cards and physical prompts that connect to the app for guided reflection, journaling, and personalized insights. “All the answers are inside of you,” she says, “but we are not able to put everything together because we’re going through it.”

“Now is the only place where life actually happens. We need to be rooted in this moment, so we are no longer living in the shadows of the past or the anxiety of the future.”

The last ritual is rest. The line includes a magnesium sleep cream designed to support relaxation and restorative sleep. Fuentes says the product is personal because she once felt guilty about sleeping. “I used to feel guilty for falling asleep,” she says. “I needed to do, do, do until I didn’t.” Now she sees rest as non-negotiable. “Rest is not a reward for hard work,” she says. “It’s the fuel for it.”

What she wants other women to know

Fuentes returns again and again to one idea, the one she believes can change everything for women who feel trapped inside the machine of productivity. “Pausing is not losing momentum.” In her view, the pause does not take anything away; it gives you something back. “You gain direction when you pause.”

The unrealistic expectations of constant output, the comparisons, the notifications, and the fear that if you stop, everything you built will fall apart, this is false. “Our worth is not defined by our productivity or how much we endure. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, if you’re stuck in doing, you are not actually leading. You’re just reacting.”

For her, taking a pause was where she found clarity and remembered who she was beyond her roles. “We are not machines,” she says. “Our wellness is the foundation of our success.” To Fuentes, wellness is not just for those with extra time or money. “Wellness is not a luxury,” she adds. “Wellness is your superpower.”

When Fuentes looks back at the version of herself in the most intense years of leadership, she wishes she had been gentler. She wishes she had known her worth was never tied to speed, or to how many crises she could manage at once. She also wishes she had understood sooner that she did not have to break herself to build something great.

NOWFUL is her way of sharing that lesson, not as an abstract philosophy, but as a daily system rooted in science, ritual, and the kind of presence she fought hard to reclaim. “It’s my gift back to the universe,” she says.

“I want people to feel as good, as energized, and confident as I do. I know it, because I’ve lived it.”

Angélica Fuentes

To women who feel trapped in constant activity, her message is clear and strong: pause, return to yourself, and begin again, starting from the present moment.
