When it comes to modern dating, being ghosted is scary any time of year, but according to new research, Halloween might just be the peak of paranormal dating activity.
Nearly half of daters (47%) admit they’ve been ghosted around Halloween, making cuffing season feel a little more like a haunting. And astrologically speaking, this year’s cosmic lineup might actually have something to do with it.
According to HilyDating App resident astrologer Lisa Stardust, four zodiac signs are carrying some serious ghosting energy this spooky season.

“Ghosting becomes a little more common around this time,” Stardust notes. “People are socializing more, reconnecting with friends, and sometimes that means they disappear from certain connections, temporarily or otherwise.”
So before you double-text that situationship, here’s what the stars have in store for the most likely culprits this Halloween.
Aries (March 21 – April 19):
Halloween Eve kicks off with the Moon in Pisces lighting up Aries’s tenth house of social status and ambition. Translation: they’re all about having fun, and not so much about dealing with drama.
“Aries will be in full party mode,” says Stardust. “If things start to feel complicated, they’ll disappear instead of confronting the issue.”

So if your Aries date suddenly ghosts mid-party, don’t take it personally, they’re probably just chasing their next thrill. And if you happen to show up at their favorite Halloween bash, expect them to act like nothing ever happened.
Virgo (August 23 – September 22):
This Halloween, Virgos are drawing some serious boundaries. Stardust says the Earth sign “isn’t in the mood for nonsense” and will only entertain people who’ve proven they’re mature and serious about them.

Scorpio (October 23 – November 21):
It’s Scorpio season, so naturally, this sign is diving headfirst into all things Halloween. From elaborate costumes to all-night celebrations, they’re fully in their element.

Pisces (February 19 – March 20):
The Moon connects with Pisces’s Sun this Halloween, turning the zodiac’s dreamers into sentimental spirits. Expect this water sign to drift into deep nostalgia, watching old movies, revisiting memories, or reconnecting with childhood friends.
