You might already have hits like Becky G’s "Dollar" or Camilo and Rauw Alejandro’s "Tattoo" on your playlist, but do you know who’s behind those songs? It’s the creative mind of Elena Rose, who's established herself as one of the most influential composers in Latin urban pop.

Andrea Elena Mangiamarchi, professionally known as Elena Rose, was born on March 23, 1995, in Miami, Florida, to Venezuelan parents. She grew up between Venezuela and Puerto Rico, where music was always a part of her life and a way for her to express herself. After some years in Bayamón, Puerto Rico, her mother decided to return to Venezuela with Elena and her younger sister, where they settled. Although music ran through her veins, Andrea Elena initially pursued journalism. However, she soon realized the microphone was not meant for delivering news but for singing.

“I recognize that music is not something you choose; it’s something that chooses you... art, sensitivity, you know? I knew there was something inside me telling me: 'This is a place where you can be yourself.’”

Her teenage years in Caracas were marked by bullying, identity crises, and financial hardships, all of which became turning points that pushed her to chase her dreams. In 2015, Elena made the bold decision to leave everything behind. Alongside her younger sister, she ventured to the United States in pursuit of her goals. Miami became the place where she started performing live, singing covers and improvising, all while working full-time at a crystal and quartz shop.

Her big break came when a producer spotted her singing at a club and helped her gradually enter the industry. In 2019, she penned "Dollar" for Becky G, and from then on, opportunities poured in. Though she wanted to start as a singer, life, as she says, led her down the path of songwriting.

Elena Rose has made a name for herself in the music world. Besides the previously mentioned artists, she has collaborated with Bad Bunny, Selena Gomez, Daddy Yankee, Marc Anthony, Christina Aguilera, Jennifer Lopez, Sebastián Yatra, Danny Ocean, and others.

“I invite people to allow themselves to experiment because I had a life plan, and I love how life has surprised me."

In 2020, she decided to launch her solo career with the hit "Sandunga," which quickly climbed popularity charts. Following that came "Fenomenal," showcasing her versatility across pop and reggaeton genres.

Throughout her songwriting career, Elena has received 10 Latin GRAMMY nominations, which honor the best in Spanish-language music. Her first nomination was at the 21st Latin GRAMMY Awards for "Muchacha" in the Best Urban Song category. Two years later, she earned recognition in five categories, including Album of the Year and Best Urban Song, thanks to her contributions to nominated productions. In 2023, she was nominated for Songwriter of the Year for Becky G’s "Arranca."

In 2024, Elena released her first EP, "En las Nubes (Con mis panas)." From this collection comes the single "Me Lo Merezco," a song about resilience, struggle, and self-love, reflecting everything Elena Rose endured before establishing herself as one of the great singer-songwriters in the Spanish-language. As Elena herself shared on social media, this track has been like “her teacher.”

Elena Rose continues to release new music. Notably, she dropped the ballad "Un Beso Menos" with Morat in early 2025. She also collaborated with Camilo and Los Ángeles Azules on "Carteras Chinas" and with Boza on "orióN."
