While goals, dramatic upsets, and unforgettable celebrations usually dominate the FIFA World Cup conversation, one of this tournament's biggest fashion stories has arrived off the pitch. Norway striker Erling Haaland has unexpectedly become one of the competition's biggest luxury style icons, thanks to an extraordinary collection of Hermès Birkin bags worth more than $317,000.

As the Norwegian superstar has traveled between World Cup matches and host cities, photographers have captured him carrying some of the rarest Hermès travel bags ever produced. His arrivals have become just as closely watched as his performances, with fashion fans eagerly identifying each exclusive piece.

Haaland Isn't Carrying Ordinary Birkins

Unlike the classic Birkin handbags commonly associated with celebrity wardrobes, Haaland has gravitated toward oversized Haut à Courroies (HAC) styles. The HAC predates the Birkin itself and was originally designed as a travel bag, making it a natural fit for an athlete constantly flying between international tournaments.

His most valuable public sighting so far is a black Multipocket HAC 50, which previously sold for approximately $69,500 on the resale market. The oversized design combines Hermès craftsmanship with practical travel functionality, making it one of the most coveted collector pieces available.

Not far behind is the Evercalf Toile Cargo HAC 40, valued at around $50,000. Featuring multiple exterior utility pockets, the design gives the traditional Hermès silhouette a modern, functional twist while remaining exceptionally difficult to find.

Another standout is the Endless Road HAC 50, estimated at roughly $45,500. Introduced as a limited edition, the artistic design features colorful mountain landscapes and a winding highway across the leather. Haaland carried this particular bag while arriving in the United States ahead of the World Cup, instantly making it one of the tournament's most talked-about fashion accessories.

Seven Rare Bags Worth More Than $317,000

Fashion enthusiasts have tracked at least seven Hermès bags that Haaland has publicly carried through paparazzi photos and his own social media posts.

Together, the collection is estimated to exceed $317,000 in resale value, although the actual replacement cost could be significantly higher depending on rarity and auction demand. Several of the bags are limited editions that rarely appear on the secondary market, making them highly desirable among collectors.

Luxury fashion observers note that Haaland consistently chooses travel-focused HAC models rather than smaller Birkins, reinforcing his preference for oversized statement pieces that match both his stature and jet-setting lifestyle.
