Penélope Cruz turns heads in figure-hugging gown and sky-high platforms at London premiere

Earlier this week, Penélope Cruz experimented with bold French avant-garde while promoting her new film in London. But for the global premiere, she returned to pure, high-impact glamour.

The Oscar winner commanded the red carpet at the world premiere of 'The Bride!' at Cineworld Leicester Square, delivering a dramatic fashion moment that blended classic sophistication with theatrical flair.

Cruz wore a striking black gown featuring a deep V-neckline and a figure-contouring silhouette that highlighted her incredible shape. The floor-length design shimmered subtly under the lights, offering a refined contrast to the true statement piece of the ensemble, a voluminous scarlet feathered stole draped around her arms.

The oversized red plume added movement, texture, and undeniable red-carpet spectacle. Against the sleek black base of the dress, the vibrant crimson created a bold, cinematic visual, perfectly in step with the gothic romance of the film.

She completed the look with sparkling diamond earrings and softly styled brunette waves, keeping her beauty look polished and timeless. The balance between the dramatic wrap and the understated gown allowed the accessories and rich textures to shine without overwhelming her frame.

The premiere marked a glamorous shift from the more experimental style she embraced just days prior while promoting the film at The Corinthia Hotel. During that appearance, Cruz opted for a French avant-garde design by Simon Porte Jacquemus, signaling a move toward edgier silhouettes for the press tour.

But at Leicester Square, the message was clear, when it comes to major red carpets, Penélope Cruz still reigns supreme in full-scale glamour.

In 'The Bride!,' directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal, Cruz stars alongside Christian Bale, Jessie Buckley, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Peter Sarsgaard in a reimagined Frankenstein tale set in 1930s Chicago.

And judging by her premiere style alone, Cruz is fully embracing the drama, both on and off screen.

Beyond 'The Bride!,' Cruz’s calendar remains packed. The Spanish star is set to headline 'La bola negra,' directed by acclaimed duo Javier Calvo and Javier Ambrossi, collectively known as Los Javis.

Inspired by an unfinished work from Federico García Lorca, the film weaves interconnected stories of desire and legacy across different time periods, with a cast that includes Guitarricadelafuente, Miguel Bernardeau, Lola Dueñas, and Glenn Close.

The film is slated to hit theaters on October 2, 2026. Los Javis reportedly wrote Cruz’s role specifically for her, highlighting her signature elegance and sharp humor, and the part will even see her singing and dancing.
