Dr. Elena Álvarez-Westwood has dedicated her career to the moments that matter, especially in Puerto Rico, where she has long supported efforts focused on early breast cancer detection and helping women access the diagnostics and treatment they need. Over the years, she has also helped raise funds for cancer research and related initiatives.
Even with a demanding professional life, Álvarez-Westwood still makes room for joy, and she never leaves her personal style behind. She attended Super Bowl LX alongside her fiancé, prominent Texas trial attorney Thomas J. Henry, making the weekend a rare personal break and a shared celebration. Her outfit said it all: fashion-forward game-day dressing that felt elevated, polished, and intentional.
Álvarez-Westwood wore a more refined look: a deep burgundy coat layered over a sleek all-black outfit, paired with tall boots and sunglasses. Underneath, she styled a fitted black lace top with intricate cutout detailing and a high neckline, balancing a subtle sheer effect with a polished silhouette. She finished the look with high-waisted black leather pants that added structure and edge, practical, but unmistakably stylish, and a sharp contrast to the sea of jerseys and team colors typically associated with the Super Bowl.
Her appearance at the Big Game comes during an especially style-forward season, with NYFW starting today and Paris Fashion Week events held the prior week. In fact, Álvarez-Westwood attended Paris Haute Couture Week.
She was seen in the front row at the Zuhair Murad show and took part in a private couture fitting with the designer while in Paris. Noting that she has a growing presence in fashion spaces beyond traditional society events.
Super Bowl weekend also coincided with a major professional moment for Henry. His law firm once again aired a commercial during the iconic sporting event (in the San Antonio market), putting the Texas-based attorney on one of the most visible advertising stages of the year. Álvarez-Westwood was by his side for the milestone, turning the weekend into a shared moment of personal and professional significance for the couple.
Following the spot, the firm also leaned into fan engagement back home, running an online contest for Texans who spotted the commercial. The firm connects with a very large audience through many different outlets, including concert, giveaways, fights, and other major events. They have a Hot Ticket Hook Up series, which is currently doing upcoming ticket giveaways to BTS, Bruno Mars, and the World Cup.
The couple celebrated their engagement and Álvarez-Westwood’s birthday with a high-profile party at the Fairmont El San Juan Hotel in Puerto Rico. ¡HOLA! attended the event, where guests were treated to private performances by three of Latin music’s biggest stars: Ricky Martin, Marc Anthony, and Enrique Iglesias. During the celebration, Martin even sang to Álvarez-Westwood, one of several personal moments that underscored the couple’s close ties and deep love for the island.
Those ties extend beyond celebrations. Earlier this year, SER of Puerto Rico announced a 1Million dollars donation from Thomas J. Henry as the organization marked its 75th anniversary. The contribution will support expanded access to specialized medical and rehabilitation care across the island, a cause that is very close to Álvarez-Westwood’s passion and career in medicine.
The couple is expected to marry this April in Texas, and many are looking forward to seeing them begin this next chapter together, continuing both their philanthropic work and life as partners. One of ¡HOLA!’s new favorite couples.
