Kim Kardashian turned up the heat this week with a racy vintage Mugler piece that has fans wondering where her waist went. The SKIMS founder is back again with another archival piece, and she decided to share the behind-the-scenes of her fitting.
Kim took to social media to show off the ultra-cinched, sheer Mugler bodysuit, a dramatic archival piece from the late Thierry Mugler’s Fall/Winter 1998 couture collection. She captioned the post simply, “Mugler Magic.”
The look featured a dramatic high-neck and long sleeves. This is not the first time the reality star has shown off her incredible figure, and this time the black bodysuit hugged her body like a second skin.
Constructed with sequined spiderweb-style panels and transparent mesh, the one-piece featured built-in thigh-highs and a revealing thong back. While Kim did not show the entirety of the outfit, she referenced it through a runway photo in the post.
The daring ensemble was paired with a massive black fur coat, similar to the original runway styling from 1998. Kim kept her hair in a tight topknot and barely any makeup, letting the outfit shine.
Fans and friends flooded the comments with positive comments. “TEN OUTTA TEN,” Katy Perry wrote, while Ivanka Trump chimed in, “Wowzer!!! Incredible !” Lauren Sánchez added, “This is just amazing."
Others couldn’t get over her tiny waist. “Slay diva, but can you breathe?!" one user joked. Another fan added, “What waist." Fashion lovers were also obsessed with the look, "I’ve been wanting someone to wear this forever! Since they started opening their archives."
Kim’s relationship with vintage Mugler runs deep. She’s worn multiple pieces from the iconic designer’s archive, including a bridal-white corset and hot pants from the Spring 1998 couture collection at the 2024 Academy Museum Gala.
She also posed in Mugler at the 2019 Met Gala, where she wore a custom latex corset dress adorned with crystals and beads, in the so-called “wet look” that took eight months to complete, and was designed by Mugler himself.
