The Lady Dior bag has a new look for summer 2026. Dior unveiled on July 9 new models of the fashion house's iconic bag that will be launching next year. The updated design features a simple yet chic bow paired with the D.I.O.R. charms, a new detail that adds an extra touch of femininity to the timeless purse. Dior shared pictures of stone gray and pink versions of the bag on Instagram.

The new Lady Dior bags were designed by Jonathan Anderson, who was announced in June as Dior’s new creative director of women’s, men’s, and haute couture collections. According to the French fashion house, the bow-adorned bags will be available starting in January.

The Lady Dior bag is named after Princess Diana. In 1995, France's then-First Lady Bernadette Chirac gifted Princes William and Harry's mother a black version of the purse, which Diana was spotted wearing on multiple occasions, including to the Met Gala in 1996.

The Dior website notes, "In September 1995, Lady Diana – who was visiting Paris for the opening of the Paul Cézanne retrospective at the Grand Palais – was offered a Dior bag to wear on her various outings. Thanks to this exceptional ambassador, the bag’s name was a given: it was to be called Lady Dior. During an official visit to Argentina in November of the same year, the Princess appeared carrying the bag as she was getting off the plane in Buenos Aires. The scene was immortalized in a now iconic photo immediately circulated around the world. The accessory quickly became one of Lady Diana’s go-to pieces, and she wore it during all of her outings, going as far as requesting a navy blue version to match her eyes. It’s only natural that Lady Diana, who loved the bag for its modern, elegant curves – and simply 'because it suited [her] well,' eventually inspired the name of this object of desire."

The reveal of the fashion's house's new Lady Dior bags came the day after Diana's daughter-in-law the Princess of Wales wore a Dior outfit for the very first time. Catherine was the picture of elegance wearing a Dior jacket and tulle skirt to welcome French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife, Brigitte Macron, at the start of their state visit to the UK.
