It seems Summer 2025 has found its pattern, and it’s straight from the vintage playbook. Most recently, it was none other than fan-favorite singer Olivia Rodrigo who joined the trend with a simple yet stylish outfit in New York City, while model Kaia Gerber also made headlines for a chic dress with the same pattern.
At the Tribeca Film Festival, Kaia Gerber proved that timeless style never really goes out of style. Attending the premiere of Gonzo Girl, directed by Patricia Arquette, Kaia embraced a timeless retro print in a red halter-neck dress covered in tiny white polka dots, featuring a V-neckline and a flowing skirt channeling 1950s glamour with a modern twist.
Kaia paired her vintage-inspired dress with ivory ballet block heels, a mix of a pump and a flat, finished with a dainty bow. Her accessories were minimal but stylish, a sleek black shoulder bag with silver hardware, oversized gold hoops, and a delicate gold chain around her neck.
Meanwhile, Olivia has shown her preference for the print, both on stage and during her latest NYC outing. Headlining the Governor's Ball in New York earlier this month, the pop star took the stage in red-and-white polka-dot hot pants and a matching bustier top.
The look was finished with nude fishnet tights, black leather boots, and her signature bold red lip. The very next day, she stepped out in black-and-white polka-dot micro shorts, paired with a sleeveless black tank and matching tall boots.
She accessorized the look with a black leather shoulder bag with a chain strap and a playful crocodile-shaped bag charm. Between Olivia’s festival-ready micro shorts and Kaia’s polished, retro dress, it seems polka dots are making a comeback and could be the print of the summer.
