News the gown "fit like a glove almost instantly" and opened up about her busy tour schedule saying, "This is my only chance to celebrate before I go back on the road."
This year's theme is "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style,” exploring the legacy of Black men in fashion, celebrating sharp tailoring, resistance through style, and cultural storytelling.
Shakira seemed to honor the theme with a look tailor-made to her, hugging her famous curves perfectly. There has been some pushback about her look on social media, with people saying the look didn't seem to fit with the theme. People were also hoping to see her hair in a different style, but her long curly locks are a part of her iconic look.

It marks the second Met Gala for Shakira, who made her debut in 2024 wearing a red Carolina Herrera dress.
