Directed by Tim Story, known for Ride Along and Barbershop, and written by Kevin Burrows and Matt Mider, the film boasts a cast with both comedic and dramatic firepower, promising serious star power and unexpected twists.

Longoria on Working with a Legend

In the film, Murphy plays Russell, a veteran armored truck driver whose routine shift spirals into chaos after an ambush by a criminal crew led by Zoe (Keke Palmer).

“I wanted to do this film to have the opportunity to work with one of the greatest comedians and actors of all time, Eddie Murphy,” Longoria shared.

“The chemistry between me, Eddie, Keke and Pete was a dream.”

Pete Davidson plays his offbeat partner, Travis, and Longoria plays Russell’s wife, though her role is anything but passive.

“I loved this script because I play Eddie’s wife and also end up going along for the adventure,” Longoria explained. She’s not just a background character. She’s in it. She’s part of the chaos.

An Off-Screen Bond Just as Entertaining

Beyond the action and comedic rhythm, it was the off-screen moments that stuck with Longoria, particularly with Murphy.

“My favorite moments with Eddie were off-screen, just sitting around between takes while I totally fangirled,” she shared. “I’d bring up every movie he’s ever done. I’m pretty sure he got tired of me asking questions, but I couldn’t help it!”

“He’s got such an incredible legacy. You feel everybody kind of have that respect and admiration for a man who's done so much and so well.”

“The Pickup is a wild ride, it’s action-packed but also hilarious,” she said. “I mean, with Eddie Murphy and Pete Davidson, how could it not be? Those two are absolutely hysterical.”
