“A promise is a promise. I’ll be in San Antonio on July 5th to give my wolfpack the show they deserve,” Shakira enthusiastically wrote. “See you soon, Texas!”

Why Did Shakira Cancel Her San Antonio Concert?

The June 13th concert cancellation was due to safety concerns over structural issues with the stage setup provided by an external company. Shakira openly addressed the problem on social media, explaining, “Due to structural issues with a truss provided by an external company supporting my stage, we were forced to reschedule my sold-out show in San Antonio.”

Known for her transparency, the “Pies Descalzos” artist revealed she had already faced similar issues with the same company during her May 29th performance in Boston, also canceled. “After experiencing problems in Boston, I personally requested a new engineering team,” Shakira explained.

“I was assured the structure had been reinforced, but after a thorough review today, it was deemed unsafe to continue,” she added, visibly disappointed."

LA Fans will also need to wait a bit longer

Fans in Los Angeles will also have have patience. The originally scheduled June 20th concert at SoFi Stadium has been postponed. According to Ticketmaster, the new date for the highly awaited Los Angeles show is now August 4th.

While the rescheduling has caused some concern and confusion among fans, it has also added a new way of excitment and anticipation to see Shakira live, delivering a powerful performance in Californian.
