It's Friday! While 2025 is already proving to be a rollercoaster, we can find solace in knowing there will always be music to help us get through the good and the bad. Just like we did in 2024, we are here to keep your playlist fresh and updated with our weekly roundup of new music released this week from a variety of genres.

GALE - Skittles

GALE kicks off 2025 with “Skittles,” a vibrant pop anthem full of nostalgia and playful energy. The track explores young love and comes with a music video dedicated to ‘Ati’ shot in her home, San Juan, Puerto Rico. The 3x Latin GRAMMY-nominated singer-songwriter said in a press release, "Skittles" is a love letter to nostalgia, reflecting on that first love that left a mark on my life. It’s a song that brings back the little moments—from a kiss on the stairs to driving around together all day—simple things that, although left in the past, remain forever. Writing it felt like traveling back in time, reliving those memories with a heart full of emotion and a touch of melancholy… It’s a song about how that first love leaves us with something eternal even if they don’t last. I hope that when you listen to it, you can connect with your memories and feel that “forever” that’s never forgotten.”

Mac Miller's posthumous album Balloonerism, recorded over a decade ago, is here. While it was leaked online, this official release has the support of his family. The body of work is beautiful and gives a listen into the experimental vibe he was working on before he passed. It's a bittersweet moment for his fans as they enjoy the magic that was, and is, Mac Miller. The lyrics to "Do You Have A Destination?" have a different kind of impact now that he's gone.
