Is the 2024 Spotify Wrapped out yet? Yes! The wait is over!  Today, the music streaming platform unveiled its much-anticipated video reveal, highlighting the artists, top tracks, and genres each of us has enjoyed throughout the year. The popular recap, which debuted in 2015, returns with the top trending music of 2024, offering both personalized and general playlists that showcase the best of the past 12 months.

How to view your Spotify Wrapped 2024

First, you need a Spotify account where you’ve been listening to your favorite music throughout the year. It doesn’t matter if you’re a free or premium user—every play counts. You’ll also need the app on your phone or mobile device, as the recap appears within it in the form of stories, similar to those we see on social media. Make sure to update the app to enjoy the full experience!

On the home screen, the Spotify Wrapped 2024 announcement will appear in your app just below the lists of artists you’ve recently listened to. It’s easy to spot, as this year it features an eye-catching animation on the homepage. If you don’t see it right away, you can also type “Spotify Wrapped 2024” into the search bar to access your annual recap.

What data does Spotify Wrapped 2024 collect?

As a music app, Spotify primarily uses the plays from your account over the past 12 months to create your personalized list. Your Wrapped playlist is tailored with the songs you played the most, showing the number of minutes you spent listening to your favorite artists. It also highlights the exact day you used the platform the most, with a detailed breakdown.

Spotify Wrapped 2024 is a personal experience

Spotify Wrapped takes personalization a step further by showing the number of distinct songs that made up your 2024 soundtrack. Among them, it highlights your top 5 tracks—the ones you just couldn’t stop playing—complete with an exact count of how many times you listened to each.

It also compares your past listening habits with this year’s discoveries, showcasing the new artists you explored. Given the app’s vast library featuring most of the world’s artists, it even organizes your preferences by genre, offering a nostalgic reminder of how you felt during different times of the year.

Recently, Spotify debunked the rumor that data collection stopped on October 31, clarifying that your listening habits in November are still included. "Spotify Wrapped doesn’t stop counting on October 31," the platform shared on social media.

"Spotify Wrapped doesn’t stop counting on October 31," Spotify confirmed on social media. To ensure you don’t miss the announcement, update your app to the latest version. The Spotify Wrapped notification will appear right on the front page when the highly anticipated report is ready.

The platform will generate a fun video showcasing your personal music trends this year, including how many times you listened to specific songs or artists, as well as your total minutes spent streaming. The video is designed to be shareable on social media, where many users will be proudly competing for the coveted title of being in the top 0.05% of listeners for their favorite artist!
