Tom Cruise was forced to put a hold on his highly-anticipated film  Mission: Impossible , after a COVID-19 crisis started, when multiple people of the production crew tested positive for the dangerous virus.

The 58-year-old actor is producing and starring in the film as the iconic Ethan Hunt, however it is still unknown if the star has been directly impacted, as it was reported that members of the crew are now self isolating.

Mission: Impossible 7   has been shut down for 14 days, and fans of the legendary franchise are wondering if the premiere date is still set for May, 2022.

Production for the film has been difficult for the actors and the crew, as they all have to go through rigorous safety guidelines, including COVID tests and the use of face-masks, with audio of Cruise reprimanding production members for violating the numerous precautions sparking controversy in December.

Filming for the long-awaited blockbuster started last year, but due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, the production had to be shut down in March and resumed in July.

The viewers can expect to see the return of some of the previous cast members, including Vanessa Kirby, Rebecca Ferguson, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Angela Bassett and Henry Czerny.

With some additions to the popular film, that include Rob Delaney, Cary Elwes, and Esai Morales, who replaced Nicholas Hoult.
