Paris Hilton may be one of the most recognizable blondes on the planet, but she has a surprisingly simple way of flying under the radar when she wants some privacy.
The 45-year-old socialite and media personality recently revealed the disguise she relies on when she wants to hit up places like Disneyland or the mall without drawing a crowd.
And apparently, all it takes is a brunette wig.
Paris Has a Go-To Disguise
Hilton told Us Weekly that she regularly switches up her signature look when she wants to blend in.
“If I wanted to be low-key, or if I’m going to Disneyland or the mall or something on the weekend, I always wear a brown wig,” she said.
© ANGELA WEISSThe trick has apparently been part of Hilton’s undercover routine for years, though she has no plans to permanently ditch her iconic platinum blonde locks.
“I would never fully do it because, being blonde, I don’t want to mess with it,” she explained.
Hilton also pointed out that repeatedly coloring her naturally blonde look brunette and then returning to blonde can take a toll on her hair.
“Dyeing it back and forth from brunette to blonde is just not good for a blonde. It will damage your hair,” she said.
She’s Already Tried the Brunette Look
Hilton isn’t exactly new to brunette hair. In May, she temporarily traded her signature blonde for dark locks while walking the runway at the GucciCore Fashion Show in New York City.
The dramatic transformation was part of Gucci creative director Demna Gvasalia’s vision for the show, but Hilton revealed that the darker look is also one she reaches for when she wants to go incognito.

For Monday’s The Blond’s 20th Anniversary Fashion Show, however, Hilton returned to the platinum blonde hair that fans know her for.
Paris Says She’s Never Been a Trend Follower
Hilton has been a major fixture in pop culture and fashion since the early 2000s, and she doesn't see herself as someone who simply follows whatever is trending.
“I’m not someone who follows trends — I’m someone who starts them and wears things first,” she said.
She added that she has always felt ahead of the curve when it comes to her personal style and knows exactly what she likes.
Could Another Simple Life Reunion Be Coming?
Hilton’s undercover confession comes as fans have another reason to keep an eye on her and longtime bestie Nicole Richie.
The pair, who have been friends since childhood, famously starred together on The Simple Life from 2003 to 2007. The reality series helped turn their friendship and chaotic adventures into pop culture gold.
Now, nearly two decades after the show wrapped, Hilton says the two are cooking up another project together.
© KMazur“Nicole and I are talking now and making plans for another new project soon, so I cannot wait,” Hilton previously told Us Weekly.
Hilton also reflected on just how long the two have been in each other’s lives.
“Nicole and I have been best friends since we [were] two years old, so all of my memories have been with her,” she said. “I’m really excited for the new project that we’re working on now.”
So while Paris may have found the perfect way to disappear in a crowd, it sounds like she and Nicole Richie aren't disappearing from our screens anytime soon.
