Kai Trump is starting a brand new phase in her life. The granddaughter of Donald Trump is beginning her college career at the University of Miami, where she'll be playing for the school's golf team while pursuing her education. In a new vlog on her YouTube channel, Kai shared a look at her first week as a freshman, documenting some of her classes and new routines. First, though, she had to say an emotional goodbye to her friends and family.

The clip shows Kai's last moments at home, in Jupiter, Florida, before her full-time move to Miami, where she'll be living for the next four years. "It's just really sad that I have to say goodbye to everyone today," she said, her eyes filling with tears.

"I'm not a very emotional person at all, so this is like really weird for me to cry; I've only cried a few times. I think knowing that I have to say goodbye to everyone tonight really, really sucks."

"I don't have to say goodbye to my mom tomorrow, but everything else is sad. I'm struggling right now, just thinking about it." She made it clear that while there's excitement, she feels very emotional when faced with such a big change. The video then shows Kai and her friends hanging out for the last time before they all leave for college.

Kai then moved out to her new apartment in Miami and showed some of her preparations for her first day of college, including an early wake-up call and a meeting with her golf team at 7 AM.

The past year has been full of changes for Kai. Earlier this year, her mom, Vanessa Trump, revealed that she was diagnosed with cancer. In the following months, she received treatment and surgery, and appears to be doing much better now.

Kai opened up about her mom's journey last month. “She went through treatment, got surgery, but she’s doing better,” she said to NewsNation. “It’s been a little bit of a rocky road, but she’s feeling better now, and hopefully she just continues getting better.”

She said that her mom's story has reorganized her priorities. “I wanted to give back to families that also have been going through the same thing with their family members,” she said. “So I’m gonna be donating to a lot of breast cancer foundations just to give back to families because I know what it is like to go through it.”
