Goldie Hawn is one of the biggest Hollywood icons. She's also helped create one of the most noteworthy acting family dynasties, with her kids, Kate Hudson and Wyatt Russell, going on to star in some of the industry's largest productions. Her grandson, Wilder Hudson, has just moved to college, inspiring an emotional reaction from the family.
Wilder is the son of Oliver Hudson and Erinn Bartlett. In a new post shared on Instagram, the parents revealed that they helped him move to college last week, and that many tears were shed.
In an Instagram post shared earlier this week, Bartlett shared numerous photos of her son over the years, showing him from a young boy with an adorable cowlick to the young man he is now. The tribute celebrated his 19th birthday but coincided with Wilder's college departure.
"This little guy turned 19 yesterday and we moved him into college last week," wrote Bartlett, adding some crying emojis. "Lots of tears not gonna lie wow... but so happy and proud and excited for you Wildman!! Couldn’t love you more and counting the days til I can hug you and annoy you again."
Hawn and Kurt Russell have been together for decades, raising four kids that have grown up into adults, with three of them going on to pursue acting. These include Boston, Oliver, Kate, and Wyatt. They have eight grandchildren, resulting in one of the largest Hollywood families we can think of.
Hawn's close bond with her grandkids
Over the years, Hawn has spoken up about her close-knit family and how much she loves being a grandmother. She wrote a children's book called "The After-School Kindness Crew: Pooch on the Loose #1", with her grandkids serving as one of her main inspirations.
“My grandchildren are mine. So I get to say, 'Okay, I dedicate this,'” she said in an interview with PEOPLE.
She revealed that she often finds herself cooking for her grandkids, a tall order considering their varied tastes. “Whatever they'll eat. They're all picky. Let me tell you. You feel like a short-order cook. You know what I mean? But I cook breakfast. They like my breakfast," she said.
