Jacob Elordi is addressing some long-running rumors. The Australian actor is one of the most coveted celebrities in Hollywood, starring in numerous exciting projects. Over the past couple of years, while the James Bond franchise has entered a lengthy pre-production phase, Elordi has been one of the names that keep popping up for the lead role.
© JB LacroixElordi has addressed the rumors for the first time. Sort of. At the premiere of "The Dog Stars" in London, Elordi was asked if he was having any meetings regarding James Bond while in the UK.
“I’m here on holiday,” said Elordi with a smile.
The rumors date back to 2021, when Daniel Craig ended his tenure as Bond. In 2023, Elordi appears to have heard of the rumors for the first time. “Oh my goodness, wow,” he said to Extra magazine. “That’s beautiful.”
“I just like that people maybe want to put me in their movies,” he said. “That makes me really glad.”

While we don't know of a lead star yet, the next 007 movie is currently in development, having a few key figures in place. The project will be directed by Denis Villeneuve, who's previously directed the "Dune" films and other box-office and critical hits.
"Some of my earliest movie-going memories are connected to 007," said Villeneuve following the announcement in a statement. "To me, he's sacred territory. I intend to honor the tradition and open the path for many new missions to come. This is a massive responsibility, but also, incredibly exciting for me and a huge honor"

Pascal, who is also the producer of the Spider-Man films, provided fans with an update for the upcoming James Bond film. “We are being really, really methodical. Having worked with Barbara Broccoli at the studio, I mean, Daniel Craig is a hard act to follow,” she said in an interview with Deadline. “And it’s got to be something really different that is stirring and exciting and different.”
In the meantime, fans of 007 have the video game, "007 First Light," which came out this year and has been a great success in the gaming industry. The game depicts a younger version of Bond and suggests that the film may also be interested in pursuing a similar route with the on-screen character.
