Suri Noelle knows what she wants. After years of speculation about the future of her career and creative pursuits, the 20-year-old daughter of Katie Holmes and Tom Cruise made her acting debut in Scotland. It proves that she's following in her parents' footsteps and is pursuing acting at Carnegie Mellon University.
Photos shared this week show Suri on the production of "Midsummer!" her school's adaptation of "A Midsummer Night's Dream," which is currently touring Scotland, at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
The images show Suri in period costume, wearing a purple skirt, a darker purple vest, and a yellow long-sleeved shirt. Her look was completed with her hair in a bun and a hat. Suri is seen on the stage, saying her lines as she appears to be smiling.
She is playing the characters of Helena, Mustardseed, Flute, and Thisbe throughout the show's runtime, which will run from August 6th to the 19th.
Suri is a student at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she's been living over the past couple of years. In 2024, Holmes made some rare comments about her daughter, sharing how proud and excited she was to see Suri embarking on a new journey. “I’m proud of my daughter. Of course, I will miss the close proximity, but I’m really proud of her and I’m happy," said Holmes in an interview with Town & Country.
“I remember being this age, this time of beginnings. It’s exciting to learn about yourself, and I loved that time, so it makes me happy to think about it like that."
Suri's decisions as she grows up
In July of this month, it was reported that Suri was using a new name in Pittsburgh. As reported by some outlets, Suri has been registered to vote since October 2024 in her county, with her name listed as Suri Noelle.
That same year, she used that same name for her high school graduation, appearing to shed her father's surname, whom she doesn't appear to have a very prominent relationship with. There have been no public sightings of Suri and Tom Cruise since 2012, when Cruise and Holmes finalized their divorce.
