Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith's unconventional relationship has made headlines for years. They never filed for divorce, but in 2023, Jada revealed that they had been separated since 2016 and had been living in different homes. But if reports are correct, they are back under the same roof.
According to a PEOPLE insider, Jada moved back in with Will two years ago. The source said that they are "happy and love each other and are, as ever, committed to supporting each other."
What's interesting is that in June 2025, a source told PEOPLE that they were still together but lived in different homes. The timeline is different from what sources told the outlet this week, so only the family knows for sure if they're living together and when it happened.
Things shifted with the Smiths in recent years with Jada's show Red Table Talk, her "entanglement" with August Alsina, and the 2022 Oscars slap heard around the world. Details about the once-private couple's life were out in the open, including their separation.
"We've been doing some really heavy-duty work together. We just got deep love for each other, and we are going to figure out what that looks like for us," she told PEOPLE in 2023.
After that revelation, their public appearances together became rare. But in June, they were photographed for the first time together in roughly six months in Malibu for a rare family dinner.
A few weeks later, they walked the red carpet as a family during the Christian Louboutin menswear presentation in Paris, celebrating Jaden Smith's role as the brand's men's creative director. It was a family affair with Willow Smith, Will's eldest son, Trey Smith, and Jada's mother, Adrienne Banfield-Norris.
A source told PEOPLE that the trip was all about "family time" and that the pair remained focused on supporting their children.
They continued to take Paris, with a string of outings, including a solo outing where they were photographed walking arm in arm.
After their Paris rendezvous, Will and Jada reunited again over the Fourth of July weekend in Philadelphia, where he was scheduled to perform.
The weather delayed the performance, but according to PEOPLE's source, Jada was there cheering him on "as she always is."
Will and Jada tied the knot in 1997 after meeting on the set of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air.
