Harper Beckham is celebrating an important birthday this Friday. The youngest child of the Beckham family will be turning 15. According to a source, it's been a challenging year for her, especially due to the highly publicized rift that exists in her family.
A source claims Harper has been feeling sad due to her family's public rift with her older brother, Brooklyn Peltz-Beckham, who, earlier this year, revealed that he wasn't in contact with his family and didn't want to reconcile with his parents.
"Harper is heartbroken and devastated at her brother's decision not to speak to her, and now her birthday is just days away it becomes a difficult scenario once again," said a source to The Daily Mail.
The source appears to reference the paparazzi photos that were captured earlier this year, showing Harper stopping by Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola Peltz-Beckham's, home in Los Angeles. She was seen carrying a letter and returning to her car after no one answered the door for her.
"They were so close. Now he won't speak to her and she can't understand why. There is nothing worse for Harper than him ignoring her on her birthday," continued the source.
"All she wants is to have a relationship with her big brother. It is so horrifying and awful for David and Victoria to see. Of course, everyone else in the family shows Harper so much love. But for the second year running it's likely there will be nothing from Brooklyn. It's not her fault that he is estranged. They've never had a cross word."
What really happened when Harper tried to visit her brother
In June of this year, Harper was in Los Angeles with her family, supporting her father, David Beckham, who received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. During that trip, she was photographed visiting Brooklyn and Nicola's home, holding onto a pink letter.
According to Page Six, Brooklyn and Nicola weren't at home. A rep for the couple said that the photos were staged. “That photographers were in place as the letter was hand delivered says it all — this was choreographed for the cameras."
According to a source close to David and Victoria Beckham, the photos weren't staged. “Victoria and David knew Harper was going to Brooklyn’s,” said the source. "The kids have had nannies and security their whole lives and have traveled on their own plenty of times, so there was nothing unusual about her going there [without her parents].”
