Lauren Sánchez Bezos is opening up about one of her most personal challenges.
The Emmy Award-winning journalist and pilot shared a candid message on Instagram reflecting on her longtime struggle with dyslexia, revealing that years of criticism left her feeling fearful and embarrassed despite her success in front of the camera.
Alongside a video featuring clips from her television career, including some of her on-air mistakes, Sánchez reflected on how far she has come in embracing the learning difference that shaped much of her professional journey.
“I made a lot of mistakes on air. You can see me laugh and say oops. (A lot) But behind that smile? Fear. Embarrassment,” she wrote. Sánchez went on to reveal that harsh criticism early in her career deeply affected her confidence.
“Critics said I didn’t deserve to be there. That one hurt. I tried not to show it and I just kept showing up every single day,” she shared. The 56-year-old explained that while dyslexia still presents challenges, she no longer feels ashamed of it.
“I still mess up words. I still reread things three or four times. But I’m not embarrassed anymore. Took me a long time to get here,” Sánchez wrote.
She also used the post to encourage others facing similar struggles, particularly children navigating dyslexia.
“If you or your kid is struggling with dyslexia, know this: you may learn differently, but different doesn’t mean less capable. Oops is the sound of progress.”
Kris Jenner and Khloé Kardashian show their support:
The heartfelt post quickly drew praise from Sánchez’s closest friends and supporters, including members of the Kardashian-Jenner family.
Kris Jenner was among the first to respond, calling Sánchez an inspiration for speaking openly about her experience.
“OOPS!!!!! Thank you for being such an inspiration to us and anyone struggling with dyslexia,” Jenner commented.
Khloé Kardashian also showed her support, leaving a series of applauding emojis in the comments section.
The encouraging responses highlighted the strong support system surrounding Sánchez as she continues to use her platform to raise awareness about dyslexia and inspire others to embrace their own journeys.
By sharing both her struggles and successes, Sánchez offered a powerful reminder that mistakes are often part of growth, and that perseverance can turn insecurity into confidence.
Lauren has spoken openly about dyslexia before:
Lauren's latest post is far from the first time she has spoken publicly about living with dyslexia. Over the years, Sánchez has shared how she struggled throughout her school years, often feeling different from her classmates and doubting her own abilities.
She has recalled being diagnosed as a child and facing challenges with reading and learning, experiences that sometimes left her feeling isolated.
Despite those obstacles, Sánchez refused to let the condition define her future. She has frequently credited perseverance, hard work, and the support of teachers and family members for helping her succeed in a highly competitive broadcasting career.
Rather than listening to those who questioned whether she belonged on television, she remained focused on her goals and continued pushing forward.
Today, Sánchez often uses her platform to advocate for greater understanding of learning differences, encouraging children and parents to see dyslexia not as a limitation but as a different way of learning.
