Jonathan Andic, son of Mango founder Isak Andic, was arrested Tuesday morning in connection with his father's death. The Catalan regional police carried out the arrest at the home of the businessman's eldest son. Isak Andic passed away on December 14, 2024, in the mountains, after falling from a height of over 100 meters during a family hike along a trail near the Salnitre caves in Collbató, located within the Montserrat mountain range. The police have transferred Jonathan to Martorell, Barcelona, to place him at the disposal of the judge, who will take his statement as an official suspect under investigation.

Following the arrest, authorized family spokespeople released the following statement, reproduced here in its entirety: "Jonathan Andic is currently testifying as part of the proceedings regarding the accident on December 14, 2024. At this time, we cannot add much more because the case is under a court-ordered gag order. There has been, and will continue to be, maximum cooperation within the framework of these proceedings."

The sudden death of the 71-year-old Turkish-born businessman was initially treated as an accident. Isak Andic lost his life while participating in one of his favorite activities, hiking, on a route he was walking alongside his eldest son. At the time, Jonathan recounted that Isak was walking a few steps behind him when he heard a rockslide. Upon turning around, he saw his father lose his balance and plunge down the ravine.

In October 2025, Investigating Court Number 5 of Martorell, Barcelona, confirmed that it was keeping an open case into the death of the Mango founder. However, in light of steady reports that already pointed to Jonathan Andic as a suspect, the High Court of Justice of Catalonia (TSJC) emphasized in a statement that no specific individual had been judicially charged yet, and that the investigation, led by the Catalan regional police, remained under seal.

At that time, those closest to Jonathan issued a statement requesting respect and privacy: "The Andic family has not made, and will not make, any comments during all these months regarding the passing of Isak Andic. However, they wish to show their respect for the proceedings carried out in this regard and will continue to cooperate, as they have so far, with the competent authorities. Furthermore, they trust that this process will conclude as soon as possible and that Jonathan Andic's innocence will be proven," the released note read.

Now, according to sources close to the case speaking to the EFE news agency, the police decided to make the arrest after more than a year of investigation, attempting to clarify the circumstances under which Isak Andic died.

Who Is Jonathan Andic?

The eldest son of the Mango founder was born from his relationship with Neus Raig Tarragó, whom Isak married in the 1970s in a marriage that lasted two decades. Neus is also the mother of his other two daughters, Judith, born in 1984, and Sarah, born in 1997. Like his siblings, Jonathan quickly took on responsibilities within the company and prepared himself for this role. He studied in the United States, where he earned a degree in Audiovisual Communication, and furthered his education at the IESE Business School. He specialized in Accounting and Finance for Executives and developed management skills through an EMBA program.

He began his career at Mango in 2005, when he familiarized himself with the company's operational system. In 2007, he took over management of the menswear line, Mango Man, with the goal of launching it internationally. He currently serves as the vice chairman of the company's board.

Jonathan Andic, 45, is in a relationship with Paula Navarro Tarrés, better known on social media as Paula Nata, where she is a popular content creator in addition to running her own communications agency. The couple planned to marry last summer, but they decided to postpone the wedding due to the mourning period the family was going through. In September 2025, they became parents to their first child, during an especially delicate time for the Andic family.
