Millie Bobby Brown is celebrating her first Mother's Day. The young actress welcomed her first child with her husband Jake Bongiovi last year, sharing the happy news on social media. This year, she celebrated her first Mother's Day with a sweet message to all moms out there.
In an Instagram story shared on Sunday, Brown sent a message to all moms out there, including "The Hopeful Mom-to-Be," "The Exhausted Mom," "The New Mom," The Grieving Mom," "The Mom Figure Who Stepped Up," "The Mom of a Prodigal Child," "The Single Mom" and "The Foster or Adoptive Mom."
The latter is personal for her, considering that her daughter was adopted. She and Bongiovi shared the happy news last August, when she was 21 years old.
"This summer, we welcomed our sweet baby girl through adoption. We are beyond excited to embark on this beautiful next chapter of parenthood in both peace and privacy," read their statement.
She's often discussed her desire to be a mother with news outlets. “I really want a big family – I’m one of four; he’s one of four,” she said of her and her husband, as reported by British Vogue. "I don’t see having your own child, you know, as really any different [than] adopting.”
The two will likely want to welcome more children in the near future.
Brown's sweet family life
Over the past year, Brown has shared her joy in raising a child and living her life alongside her husband. This past February 22nd, she marked her birthday with a sweet photo showing her at the beach, looking ahead at the water as her baby girl sat right next to her. Both were wearing matching teddy bear jackets.
"grateful for my husband and daughter. I am so blessed," she captioned the post.
Brown and Bongiovi have yet to share their daughter's name with the world, revealing that the two hope to guard her privacy for as long as they're able to.
"For me, it’s really important to protect her and her story until she’s old enough to potentially one day share it herself," she told British Vogue. "It’s not my place to purposefully put her in the spotlight unwillingly."
Brown lives with her family in Georgia, on a farm that houses all sorts of rescue animals, who are often featured on her social media posts.
