Fátima Bosch has a deep love for the place where she grew up, something she has shown on more than one occasion. That is why it came as no surprise when, while in Monaco fulfilling her duties as Miss Universe, she addressed a heartbreaking tragedy in her home state. The Mexican beauty queen shared a sincere message of support after a fire caused the deaths of five people at the Tabasco Fair.
On May 7, Fátima took to Instagram to comment on the terrible events that took place in the so-called “Eden of Mexico.”
“Today my heart is with every family that woke up with pain, sadness, and disbelief because of the tragedy that occurred at our beloved Feria Tabasco,” she wrote in her Instagram Stories. “As someone who is part of that land I love so much, I send my embrace from afar to those who are suffering the loss of their loved ones today. To those who lost the fruits of their hard work, you will move forward. Strength and light during these moments. You are not alone,” Fátima added in her message.
In the early hours of Thursday morning, a fire broke out in Hall 1 of Parque Tabasco ‘Dora María,’ the venue in Villahermosa where Feria Tabasco 2026 was taking place. The incident, whose causes are still under investigation, resulted in the deaths of five people as well as major material losses.
“We will immediately launch an economic recovery program for the exhibitors who were affected. We will not leave them alone. Investigative authorities will begin their work to determine the cause of the fire,” said Governor Javier May Rodríguez. He also explained that the victims were exhibitors from outside the state who had stayed overnight inside the affected hall.
While the queen’s beloved Tabasco faces this tragic situation, Fátima is on the other side of the world, carrying out the responsibilities that come with her Miss Universe title. The Mexican model has shared glimpses of her visit to Monaco, where she looked stunning in a sky-blue gown designed by Dominican fashion designer Giannina Azar.
Love and Gratitude to the People of Tabasco
In December 2025, Fátima Bosch returned triumphantly to her hometown in Tabasco as Miss Universe, receiving an overwhelming welcome. Thousands gathered in Villahermosa to see the beauty queen as she rode through the city streets in an emotional parade.
“I want to tell you that your love fills my heart, your support gives me strength, and it brings me so much joy to have had the honor of bringing this crown back to the place where I was born,” Fátima said at the time. “This crown now belongs to Mexico and to the world, but it started here in Tabasco. I will never forget my roots, I will never forget where I come from, because no matter what part of the world I’m in, you are a part of me and I will always carry you in my heart. Because nobody knows how to celebrate like we do, and nobody knows how to come together like we do,” she added in her speech.
