Janet Jackson is not happy with the upcoming biopic depicting her brother's life. "Michael," expected in theaters this April, was watched in a private screening in Los Angeles attended by members of the Jackson family, prompting differing reactions from the siblings, primarily Janet and her brother Jermaine.
© LionsgateAccording to Page Six, around 60 people gathered for the screening, with sources claiming that there was a crash between Janet and Jermaine, who's the father of the film's lead, Jaafar Jackson, playing his uncle Michael.
While most people in the screening were enjoying the film and praising Jaafar's performance, when the movie ended, Janet couldn't hold back her criticism.
“She had something negative about almost every scene,” said one of the attendees. “The acting, the makeup, how the actors spoke, even how they walked. It was Janet deciding against the room that this movie wasn’t going to meet her approval.”

The Jackson family has a complicated history. When it comes to the making of this film, Jermain has been heavily involved in the process and is obviously invested in it, considering the fact that his son is playing the lead role.
Janet is a different story. In past months, she's been one of the most visible Jackson family members who've supported Paris Jackson and her ongoing legal battle against the Jackson estate.

In past months, Paris Jackson and her legal team have been facing off against the executors of Michael Jackson's estate. She's been appearing in court for hearings, with her and her team accusing a small group of lawyers of exploiting her father's estate last year. These claims were denied by the defense.
"Paris spent yesterday in court as her legal team raised fact after fact that proved the executors were failing to meet their fundamental obligation to be transparent and accountable,” said a source to Us Weekly. “We think these unacceptable six-figure bonus payments are just the tip of the iceberg.”
