Two sources report that Guthrie is planning to return to the show, according to CNN. While plans are in motion, there's no expected date for her return; the issue is completely up to Guthrie, with the network supporting her.

"For Guthrie, as hard as it might be to imagine resuming work, it might also be a comforting routine after the most unsettling chapter of her life," writes CNN.

The source Guthrie's “‘Today’ family will welcome her back with open arms on her timeline.”

Nancy Guthrie went missing on February 1st, a news story that has compelled the country. Over the past weeks, Guthrie has shared videos alongside her siblings and alone, asking for the kidnappers to return her mother and thanking her followers for all of the support her family has received.

Guthrie's recent plea for her mother's kidnappers

Earlier this week, Guthrie shared a new statement about her mother, making it clear that while she remains hopeful, she's aware that the longer the investigation runs, the less likely it is for her mother to be found alive.

"It is day 24 since our mom was taken in the dark of night from her bed, and every hour and minute and second and every long night has been agony since then, of worrying about her, and fearing for her, and aching for her, and most of all, just missing her," she said.

"We still believe in a miracle. We still believe she can come home," she said. "She may be lost. She may already be gone."

Guthrie revealed that her family is offering a million-dollar reward for any person who helps find her mother. "But we need to know where she is. We need her to come home. For that reason, we are offering a family reward of up to $ 1 million. For any information that leads us to her recovery," she said.

She also donated $500 thousand to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children, an organization centered on finding missing people.
